Bird of paradise

We've had some crazy weather lately, but our bird of paradise managed to bloom regardless.

Another day working away, with a trip to the gym this morning and a trip to the optometrist this afternoon because I've been getting headaches after long days at uni. There doesn't seem to be too much of an issue, although one of my eyes is doing something different to the other, but it's not bad enough that I need glasses right now. So that's good!

Had a nice coffee and catch up with Mum after my appointment, as her non-teaching week matches up with my mid-sem break so we're both a bit more flexible.

This is such a striking flower that I feel like I didn't manage to do it justice in the photographs, but its beauty shines through anyway! I picked this particular picture because it kind of looks like a woman diving or flying through the air. Or at least, it does to me.
