At home: Meet Poppy...x

Poppy is a special little dog. She's on a try out with us. My friend Jayne has asked us to look after her to see if we could offer her a long term home.

Poppy is really trying hard. She's been up against it too. Poppy isn't used to wide open spaces but she's really worked hard at learning to recall. She trembles at the sight if a moving car, but has sat and watched threw my legs at the side of a park. To top it, she's has Tiger the cat to contend with. He is not impressed with a rival in his territory, and spent the morning growling at her like a bass baritone before making a run at her.

Poppy spent the evening, inching closer to Tiger, nose out reached. This evening, they managed a brief truce, Tiger on the fence and Poppy sat below, whilst I delivered a speech on how they could help each other. How they could in fact be good friends. How they both have something to offer. I say to Tiger how Poppy is actually very keen to work at helping him keep the rodent population down. Poppy confirms this, almost immediately by chewing at the remnants of a tailed thing in the field....
