Beach sculptures

on the long curved beach, the tide ebbs quickly now
…………………………a line of seaweed marks high water
………………………………….as clear as if a felt tip pen
…………………………………………………has doodled round /through/along the stones.

…………………………….here someone
………………………….has created cairns
…………………………….little towers of
…………………………… balancing rocks -
…………………………precarious sculptures
…………………………………in blues,
……………..pinks and mottled greys and whites.
…………….

……………………….and so we add to them:
……………………………a flat one here, a
………………………………..knobbly one
………………………………….in shades of
……………………………….terracotta there,
…………………….a round white pebble on the

……………………………………….top
……………………………..which the wind
……………………………..will surely cause
………………………………….to rock and
………………………………………..fall.

Stand back, admire each others’ work… but that’s not what it is – nor art - but therapy perhaps – or simply play(fullness)
