The End of the road

Today was my last day of “freedom”, although I used the morning to go on a training course. No regrets, it was very good. I got home mid-afternoon and there was a lot I probably should have been doing but then it would have been like any other day and not part of the Big Adventure. I decided I just had to finish the last day with a photo shoot so I went out to Martin Mere.

I had promised myself that I would go on another canoe safari so I took the opportunity this afternoon. I was hoping to get some good wildlife shots but it wasn’t easy to paddle the canoe single handed and take photos. The canoe just wouldn’t stop when I wanted it to! Also, it is supposed to be a nice quiet wildlife safari but there was one canoe with a group of three who obviously thought they were at Alton Towers on the dodgems. They rammed me once and then madly paddled away splashing me with large amounts of water, with no apology. I'm not surprised all the wildlife went into hiding. However, for the last twenty minutes I think I was the only boat out and it was so peaceful, I was certainly last boat back.

So, the Big Adventure is over and it is back to work tomorrow!!! I can’t get my mind into gear at all and it is going to be hard getting back into the swing of it all. Thanks for joining me on the journey, I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have. I will now be back to trying to find blips in the middle of busy days. It has been an amazing experience and I still have a lot of work to do to process it all.

Final photo total will be announced tomorrow!

I have also nearly caught up with all your journals so normal service will be resumed soon!
