Mating season

Tui were omnipresent in the pohutukawa today. Some even seemed to be making sure that I was aware of them. However, I know that it was other tui they were letting know where they were and how cleverly they can fly through the dense trees.

Eventually, this one came close enough and stayed still enough for me to get this shot of it through the branches of the biggest pohutukawa on our land. I have cropped out most of the blurred trunk, leaving just a little for context.

Today was son's birthday. A Facetime chat. Tonight daughter J will accompany S and me to the local movies.

Large is good.
