ANOTHER FAMILY
Mischa and I had made a plan to cycle to Rijswijk on her free day, there is a city farm with lovely deer there.
Early in the morning lying in bed I heard the thunder and the heavy rain. After that I did sleep again and when I awoke the sky was rather dark. Later it became a bit lighter.
Mischa came at coffee time and we decided to go for a walk instead.
We went to the Ockenburgh park, walked the path between beautiful old trees, but hardly made a picture.
When we came near the end of our walk we suddenly saw the swan family.
The two parents and the cygnets, four white ones and one light brown, slobbering of the duckweed, that covered the whole ditch.
They all looked so peacefully.
From the park we went to the Pluk gardens and the Heempark, not far from there.
At the little pond we saw a scene that we had not seen before. Three pair of dragonflies flew above the surface and dived all the time at the water, laying eggs, we wondered.
They went so fast, I could not take a decent picture. Mischa could take one, but she decided to post a single beautiful dragonfly for her picture. You can see here.
So our walk ended in exitment!
My haiku:
Enchanted walking
No one else seeing the swans
Eagerly eating
And the proverb:
Neem niet meer dan gij dragen kunt.
Translation: Do not take more than you can carry.
