Amman mini-marathon

Dozens of staff and volunteers working here with the Syrian refugees (and many of them refugees themselves) ran the Amman mini-marathon to highlight solidarity with Syrian refugees. My lovely colleagues Syma and Zulfi did an amazing job of multi-tasking by combining the run with a work meeting.

I saw them off at the start and zoomed round to the finish at the Roman Theatre to cheer them through the last 50 metres. You can see the Temple of Hercules on the hillside behind them. The Roman Theatre was packed with runners cheering and chanting - giving us all a great insight into how it would have sounded all those centuries ago.
