Out of the Wind

Windy all day and rain rolled in repeatedly.
Lashing down as I type.
Light was already fading as I headed home.
Sea was quite wild,
but I wasn't dressed for going out onto the rooks.
The rain had formed pools up above the beach
and sheltered from the wind they formed mirrors
for the bit of light that was breaking through the cloud.
Within half an hour low cloud rolled in
and the rain has been lashing down all evening.
Promise of better weather for the weekend.
