Bee lovely....

This is not about the photograph so much as about the subject of the photograph. Just a wee jar of honey you say? This however is very special honey as it is made by Colonsay black bees - a small population of very special bees. They are disease free and the desire to protect them has been strong, albeit bedevilled by definitions of wild versus domesticated etc. You can find out a bit more here. So this little jar is something of a triumph. I have it because the government intervention started back when I was Environment Minister and culminates two Environment Ministers later. The producer very kindly passed it on to me. Wasn't that lovely?
