Out of Season

The tourists aren't flooding the centre of London right now, and it's quite an unusual feeling to walk what have been until recently very busy streets, which are now half dead. It's also strange to notice how quickly it's getting dark in the evenings. How odd to feel that more and more each year, when I've been through this cycle 43 times before? The buildings are actually the nicest parts of London at this time of year, I find. The closer we get to Christmas, and the darker it gets, the more aggressive people seem to become. It's such a shame. I'm off on meditation retreat the week after next, maybe it'll help with perspective.
