Apple of my eye

It's a joy to have locally grown Cox's Orange Pippin apples available again. I bought these at Macknades in Faversham and they're flavour bombs!

Cox's are now my second favourite apple variety, my favourite these days being Egremont Russet. I'm worried that growers are reducing the numbers of these two varieties in favour of the new supermarket favourites, Gala, Braeburn, Jazz, etc.

It's the Apple Festival at nearby Brogdale later this month. I can't wait!
