Muddied but unbowed

You stand so proudly,
With fine feathers and red crown,
Muddied, but unbowed.*

Quite similar to my previous blip, but these are such handsome birds I couldn't resist. Especially when he presented himself outside my office window ... I wonder if it's the same one?

* A clumsy reference to the poem Invictus, one of my Dad's favourites and which my daughter read at his funeral.
