Closed on Sundays

This is one of my favourite churches in Finland, the church of Toivakka in Central Finland. The exterior is quite ordinary - the church was built 1878-82 - but the interior is something totally different: there are pop art -paintings of local painter Pellervo Lukumies on the ceiling. Paintings are from years 1972-73.

Today I was driving quite near Toivakka, and I decided to drop in to that fancy church. The doors were closed. On Sunday at 2 pm! Shops are open and churches are closed on Sundays. What the hell? Literally.
