A summer office lunch

When the sun shines like this Anthony suggests we take our lunch onto Parkers Piece, the flat green just outside our office. It's a wonderful idea that is too easily overlooked once we are cocooned into the office for the day. He sits close to the window, so perhaps he is more aware of what the outside world and the weather are up to. My little group is on the left of the photo and there is another office group doing the same thing to the right. It's great to get out our dingy room with bars on the window and go out to breathe some air in the real world.

Us men sit around in our dark trousers and light shirts (Loretta is all black) and bitch about crap software and poor office practices. Perhaps I am being a little unfair, but it does seem that most software companies are very short on non-work related conversation. Maybe an hour for lunch is not enough time for us to get our work out of our heads. Or maybe we are mostly embittered nerds that revel in the fleeting feeling of superiority produced from slagging off a poorly performing operating or programming system.

The 3-shot panoramic has give Parkers Piece a lovely undulating quality that this dead-flat green does not really possess.
