Managed to get an early appointment with the Dr, who thought I may have a stress fracture in my foot so it was off to hospital to get it checked out. I can't fault the level of service offered, with my visit to the hospital taking about 45 minutes. And still they apologised for the delay! I thought it was excellent service.

Anyway, no stress fracture, and still no idea what caused the bruising. I'm content that it is now much improved, but not so much that I could move quickly enough to get a photo of the woodpecker in my garden. You'll have to out up with the signs at our local hospital instead, which is infinitely better than a picture of my foot!
