Never say "I dare you..."

For those blissfully unaware, we have a certain Mary Berry who is a cook and is presently taking over British TV's baking programmes.

The current Mrs Brown has been reading her autobiography of late. and challenged me (which she knows is always a dangerous thing to do) to bake some shortbread biscuits from a recipe given in the book.

The ingredients included semolina for added "crunch"

These biscuits have enough crunch to break a jaw...

Crisp. I'll say they are.

Sadly I have to report that several of the biscuits were damaged beyond repair in the making of this blip and had to be disposed of in the approved manner.
