Red is the new green

The seasons are definitely on the change, leaves are turning and falling, mornings are cold, days are short, and now that it's October it's even time to get the winter wheels on the car - although I might wait for the temperatures to drop a bit further first! I had to endure some of the rather special German customer service today, called in on to the bank to ask amongst other things for a new bank card because many of the card readers in the various shops struggle to read it, the staff have to repeatedly swipe it, leaving me standing at the front of the queue knowing that there's cash in the account but feeling sure that everyone behind me thinks the opposite. I explained this to the lovely customer (un)service lady who checked my card in her reader and of course it works, it recognizes one of its own doesn't it...grrrrrr. Apparently it's the fault of the other shops and their machines.
