Senior officers from abroad visit Aberdeen
Senior commanders from Bahrain, Kenya and Saudi Arabia visited Aberdeen today to hear how Police Scotland provide policing response to oil and gas installations in the central and northern North Sea.
The visiting officers, who are in the UK as part of the Police Strategic Leadership Programme run by the National Policing Improvement Agency, are visiting the Granite City for a week and whilst here, they will also hear the positive impact of community-based policing and about the division's strong commitment to partnership working.
Chief Superintendent Adrian Watson, Aberdeen Commander, said: "We are very proud that these senior commanders have seen fit to visit our city to seek out good practice in modern policing. With violent crime halved in the past five years and anti-social behaviour reports well down in the city centre, we are committed to sharing our good practice and we, in turn, will undoubtedly learn much from the visiting commanders."
