Salisbury Crags
Went to the Foodies Festival today in Holyrood Park while Mrs42 went through to the west for a girly night in with her sisters and mum.
Review of Foddies Festival
A nice chilled out atmosphere and some (cooking) demonstrations going and lots of things to taste and try, but it was a little bit like paying to go into an expensive shopping centre with lots of farmers' market stalls.
Here's a mini example, one of the big stalls was for veuve-clicquot champagne - who were also doing a champagne tasting thing. The mini bottles (1 1/2 glasses) were £9!!
Sod that, so we went for the £3 big bottles of pear cider and a large sample of the elderflower and lime cider. Once I'd drank that I was much more chilled out.
On the plus side, the weather was mostly sunny, the company was good and there were some interesting things to see.
Today's near blip - Arbroath Smokies.
My verdict: worth going to if you are organised, check out whats on and get there early. Not sure I would go at full price but at 2 for 1 the tickets are a bearable price.
