Today's the day ....................... to sort

I've spent the day at my parents' house sorting through the multitude of things there, before it becomes the property of someone new.

I started off thinking that it would be an easy task. After all, it was a modest bungalow with limited room to store things - and there were four of us to do the job. However, I have to say that after a couple of hours of careful, intensive sorting - that kind of thinking went out the window. We were talking here of nearly forty years worth of accumulated possessions and their associated memories.

Eventually, the trick was to find the odd thing that was special for a particular reason and should be kept. Then, it became easier to be ruthless with the rest - and the only decision to be made was whether it should go to one of the charity shops or in the bin. It was hard work, but by the end of the day, good progress had been made.

Another couple of days to go - and the job should be a good 'un ......................
