Linlithgow Palace

After initial confusion as to meeting place (some of us went to Blackness Castle!), We spent a happy and exciting day with the family at Linlithgow Palace. This is a splendid building with so much to explore, grand halls, cubby holes, corridors, staircases, dungeons, rooftop - and a bit of history too.

This is the ornate fountain in the courtyard. It was in shadow and I like the silhouette against the honey-coloured sunlit stone.
