Cruel and unusual punishment
It's Euan's 11th birthday tomorrow and today he got into his first street fight with one of of his wee pals. Actually, it was more of a minor scrap that involved him being called 'ginger', him pushing the name-caller, then the name-caller pushing back a bit harder (due to his 1 foot or so height advantage) and causing Euan to fall head first into a hedge. Nasty scratch around his eye, but luckily no long term damage.
I didn't have to intervene much either, Euan's big sister was straight out giving the wee laddie a piece of her mind in most forceful and vociferous manner. I was so proud.
So, by way of punishment to indicate our displeasure at having our son brawling in the street, Euan is seen here cleaning all of the stone chips in the back garden by hand. Individually. Front and back. Should keep him busy for an hour or two.
Actually, before anyone calls the RSPCC or Childline to grass us up, it's not us punishing him at all, it was just him going through his favourite Saturday task of cleaning out the guinea pig hutch. Punishment enough Euan feels I think.
Mind you, I might keep the stone chip cleaning punishment for another day... :-o
