Lakeside

I've been visiting Keswick for years, ever since Mum decided that a walking holiday in the Lake District would be a good idea. We must have been the most ill-equipped family ever! We spent two weeks walking from place to place, staying in youth hostels and moving on each morning, carrying our belongings in our thin backpacks! We had no Goretex, walking boots or technically specified clothes. Scottie5 and I wore shoes which were ready for the bin when we got home. Dad read the maps and we followed!

The sun shone everyday of that holiday (except the foggy day crossing Helvellyn) and we have such great memories of it.

........which just goes to show that as usual Mum was right!!!
