Asti Palio

For the first time, the Asti Palio was cancelled yesterday, sadly a horse died and then the rain poured down.

We hadn't planned to go, I am not a fan of crowds, nor that interested in horses.

But as we had planned to be in Asti today and the event was being restaged, we decided we would give it a try. Quite an experience.

Not as sad as a horse dying, but the card on my main camera died taking with it some amazing photos of Asti's great and good attending - some very snazzy uniforms on show.

This is the shortened version of the parade beforehand. We were supporting Nizza as we were staying nearby. They came fourth.
