The mighty Brandberg!

Brandberg mountain - Namibia's largest mountain dominates the surrounding desert plains near our camp. It measures 30km by 23km at its base and is 2573m at its highest point. It is often too hazy to see the top, or it's peaks are shrouded in cloud but today was wonderfully clear.

Today we headed into the thriving metropolis of Uis, an hour from camp, to enjoy our one full day off. Wifi, electricity, pool, good coffee and hot showers!! These wonders all awaited us at the Brandberg rest camp :)

On the return trip to camp we stopped at a roadside stall run by the local Himba tribe. I now have a wrist full of lovely hand made bracelets - courtesy of not being able to leave without buying something!
