Eyes...

The weather recently has been so beautiful - just a shame it's changing next week, just as Pete and I are heading to Lancashire for a working holiday! Unfortunately I didn't have time to make the most of it today, but at least managed a sunlit morning walk along the river, where I came across this migrant hawker perching on a sweet-briar. Normally this species is quite flighty, but it was still fairly early in the morning and I suspect this individual was feeling a little sluggish, which enabled me to ge very close.
