What a day....

We've had a bit of a week. Looking like 4 properties rented, with two move in's today, one of those houses needs a couple jobs finishing (like painting damaged trim and putting new skirting board on a corner that a dog had chewed off, and replacing a toilet), another house needs it's finishing jobs and cleaning - as the tenants move in tomorrow, and first thing this morning I get a call from an existing tenant saying "someone knocked our postbox over".

So...first thing I got the postbox repaired - it had an 8 foot post! And someone had whalloped it so hard the post had broken nearly 2 feet down! Anyway, repair consisted of chopping off the broken bit, reseating it in cement and bringing it back from the road by 6 feet.

Next thing were lost keys at a new tenant house. Easily solved.

Then onto the second move in house and replaced skirting board in one room, touched up dog scratched paintwork on some trim, and installed a new toilet.....

Then onto tomorrows move in house, put down a new floor transition that I had had to make myself - and discovered it was 1" short. For the love of God - 1" short. Then I broke it when laying it. That'll need replacing.

Did a quick bit of tiling in the kitchen (the last tile never went up), and then called in the cleaners.

Finished the day by taking a hose off the pickup - and couldn't get the new one on again....DOH.

All in all, a very long day, and a with any luck, I'll have a non working weekend with the wife.
