Durdle Door - brave or foolish?

A trip with the clan to Lulworth Cove and then Durdle Door today gave us a great walk over some stunning scenery despite the haze. The stiffness of the climb was certainly made up for by the views including the variety in colour shown in the sea.

While eating fruit and cake on the beach for lunch we were watching some swimmers, one of whom climbed out of the water onto the further part of the arch. As you can see from the photos he then proceeded to jump off and perform a somersault into the sea. At about 3 frames a second I managed to catch significant points of the jump, including his entry into the water.

Was he brave or foolish ... you can decide for yourself, but I know I won't be attempting it anytime soon! I wonder though how friends, family and strangers interpret some of the things we do each day and whether they ask the same questions about our activities.
