DUCKS OUT OF WATER..

Our precious Lee Valley bird reserve in East London, is worryingly devoid of water. It is home to many varied bird communities.
Including my beloved Mallard ducks.
It seems that the CrossRail project needs to temporarily extract the water for some earth works to take place.
It better had be temporary.
I'd estimate 7/8ths of the sanctuary water has gone, leaving only a mud flat for the birds to swim and feed upon.
I believe this is a conservation area - I'll be making calls tomorrow to see when we can expect the water to be returned to the basin.
