Love Me, Love My . . .

This is Lucy, a 14-year-old part-Staffordshire anyone's-guess, and her owner. I came across them at the Farmers' Market in Otley today and what a splendid couple they make.

Because of her Staffordshire genes, Lucy had been trained as a fighting dog and used as such for a number of years before being abandoned, presumably because she is one of the most non-ferocious canines to walk the Earth. She was rescued and eventually adopted by her current owner, with whom she has a happy life.

I do like a happy ending.
