Under Construction

The Kelpies at The Helix.

Sculpted by Andy Scott, they stand up to 30 metres tall weighing over 300 tonnes.

Still under construction, I was unable to get close to them on site (the Helix carpark was chock-a-block) and had to make do with a quick pass over the motorway. I could see just how difficult it was winching each individual stainless steel piece into place for riveting, fighting against the wind!

Looking forward to revisiting them once completed :)
