View from the Glasgow School of Art
The last day of the Mackintosh Tour started with an external view of the magnificent Mackintosh Building at the Glasgow School of Art. The group were then taken on an internal tour of the building by one of the students. This is a view from the 'loggia' on the south side of the building looking out across Glasgow. You can also see the cantilever section of the GSA which was originally the greenhouse/conservatory.
We then headed over to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum where I took the group round the Mackintosh and Glasgow Style Gallery. After lunch the group had some free time to explore the delights of Kelvingrove.
As it was such a stunning day I decided to drive over to Park Circus to let them see the stunning architecture in this part of the city.
Our tour finished at The Willow Tea Rooms, where we had a cream tea in the Room de Luxe.
I'll not forget the comment that Mary Ann said yesterday; "I cannot believe how much beauty I have seen in one day"
So it is a relaxing evening with a chilled glass of white wine.........
