John and Rhoda

We went for a walk today to Swallowfield Park, Nr Reading. Last year I went for a hot air balloon ride and we landed here and although I know the area quite well I had never heard of the park. Unfortunately it is mostly private land but we did find the lovely All Saints Church with this gravestone in the grounds. I just love the way the stonework has picked up these autumnal colours.
I also find it sweet, yet sad, that Rhoda lived for nearly 50 years after John died. Was she alone? did she have children? was she happy? We will never know but can only wonder!
