Life through the lens...

Big Brother is watching you!

Look at this large.

In the distance you can see the "Golf Balls" of RAF Menwith Hill , outside Harrogate, which provides communication and intelligence support services to the United Kingdom and USA.
It is actually run by the US National Security Agency (NSA) and is the worlds largest monitoring communication station.
( No one knows exactly what goes on there!)

In the foreground high on the windswept moorland of North Yorkshire (near Otley) is Dob Park lodge. Ruined and forgotten (almost)
Originally one of 3 hunting lodges, this would have provided welcome respite from the biting Yorkshire winter weather.
Scheduled in 1997 as an Ancient Monument, and grade 11 listed.
It was built in the 17th century.
The area is within the Royal Forest of Knaresborough. A former medieval hunting park, originally of William the Conquerer, and later John of Gaunt, the Duke of Lancaster.
It commands a fine view of the Washburn Valley's rolling landscape.

This was the highest part of our walk today, which started at Lindley Bridge.

What a beautiful day. Sunshine, a slight breeze, warm 20c perfect for walking.
Autumn has begun. The trees beginning to change colour. An abundance of acorns, chestnuts, beech nuts, rose hips, elderberries, blackberries, and rowan berries, in the woods and hedgerows. All winter food for the birds and animals.
They should have a real feast this year!

What a joy to be able to walk out in the Yorkshire countryside on such a beautiful day like today.

I hope you have all been able to enjoy the weekend too.
