Fallen Leaf

A year ago we were with Chaiselongue for the last time...here. She and LoJ look so happy with a sense of much ahead of them to enjoy. We had planned a 'photo shoot' that morning in Las Colonias, an area of vernacular housing which had slowly been demolished over the last years and had not only featured in my journal frequently, but had struck a special chord with Chaiselongue. I had an idea of what the final shot would look like; hopefully, capturing something of her connection to the place and empathy for the lives lived there. 'Next time!', we laughed, as the rain pounded the roof of the market café overhead. Sadly, it was not to be, but I still have the missing shot in my mind's eye. I think she would have like it.

Today's shot is taken in Cadaques, Costa Brava, Spain.
