I Call Him Bud

THE PELICAN

A wonderful bird is the pelican,
His bill will hold more than his belican.
He can take in his beak
Food enough for a week.
But I’m damned if I see how the helican.

After brunch at IHOP Connie and I drove out to Cedar Key where I made the acquaintance of this fine looking bird. We exchanged pleasantries but I really couldn't catch his name since, in Pelican, it's somewhat long and difficult for my English tongue to wrap itself around. So I called him Bud. He was hanging out on the fishing pier and seemed eager to pose once I explained I was looking for my blip for the day. Nice guy, Bud.
