Training photography

I got as a birthday present a training course regarding photographing from my son's family.
So far I have just taken photos with automatic controls. Actually I had forty years ago Canon Fbt with manual controls but after getting automated pocket cameras I forgot how to use adjustable cameras.
I have now got a new start, a new chance to refresh my forgotten skills. The training has forced me to find out all the controls of the camera and practice with them.
