What a dish of ointment
Took Beloved to the Stamford Georgian Festival this afternoon. What a disappointment.
First disappointment, the publicity noticce on the web said that disabled parking was available at 2 locations, problem being that both locations were inside a traffic free zone.
The promised costumed folk were very few and far between, only four or 5.
Attractuions were to include Street entertainers
Stilt walkers • Mime Artist • Juggler • Punch and Judy Show • Flea Circus • Living Statue • Silhouette Cutter • Face Painting • Morris Dancers • Exotic animals • Coldstream Guards Military Re-enactment • Character Performers • Fairground Rides
But where? We say the Morris Dancers, scary, but none of the others.
There were a number of people around who seemed to be asking the public for comments, I hope no on praised them very highly.
The only thing they seemed to get right was the free parking for the disabled and cheap parking for everyone else. It's cheaper to park for a whole day in Stamford than half a day in Lincoln.
Sorry Stamford, better luck next time.
