Captain Concentration

This is my son, captain of the under 9 rugby team prior to their final game, played under lights at night. It was a big responsibility which he took very seriously, telling the other team-mates all through the game " I am the captain so do what I say!" Luckily they won 95-5 so there was little dissention in the ranks and he lives to face another day without mutiny. Needs to develop some people skills and maturity next season....
I did bribe him before the game with a $5 per try reward, which he took equally seriously and scored 3 tries. He was out done by another team member whose mother said he would get a trip to Egypt if he scored a try- which he did- first one ever in three years of playing. Seeing NZ is about as far from Egypt than it is possible to get, then that was a great motivation, which the rest of us parents are not willing to match!
