Life in a Northern Town

On the Edge

Well I've had a lovely day.

Despite the best efforts of the bloody sat nav in John's car, I had a walk around Baslow Edge with GrahamontheEdge, his lovely wife Val (of course Graham is lovely too, but don't tell him I said so) and Jackson the dog. It was still a little hazy but that did not stop the views and the early autumn colours from being spectacular, and much chatting went on. Thank you Graham, Val and Jackson for putting up with a complete wuss of a walker, and for generally being wonderful people.

I drove back through some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK - Snake Pass, Woodhead Pass and Holme Moss - I am lucky to be alive as my eyes were rarely on the road! No photos as the few places there are to stop were all jammed with cars on this gloriously sunny day.

I suspect only the dog missed me today, and she is sulking as I came home smelling of another dog. She'll forgive me.

Finally, a song especially for Graham, who loves a popular beat combo, and will definitely get the link....
