Now that I'm using raw exclusively on this camera, I made another discovery. I took some raws in square mode (which is a great feature), and they appear to be square! I'm not sure yet if this is done in the orf->dng conversion or in camera. They also display in-camera as rectangular images with the square part highlighted, so the data is there somewhere.

After a hard day at work today and dinner with my dad, I took a little ride down to the valley. Always worthwhile.
