Rays of Light

The 3H (hazy, hot and humid) weather continues here. The weather has a warm and soupy feeling to it. You go outside and almost immediately begin to sweat. The weather is far better than cold rain, but can be a bit oppressive at times. Thank goodness for air conditioning!

On my way out of the of the office, I looked up at the sky and noticed the sun behind the clouds with rays emanating outwards. I thinking that this had something to do with the humidity in the air. I took a couple of pictures from the parking lot, but decided to drive to a more scenic location and this is the result.

This shot is a case where HDR was the only choice. The difference in brightness between the sky and ground exceeded the camera's dynamic range. It would not have mattered if I only cared about the the sky or the ground, but I wanted to expose for both. In the end, I am happy with the result.
