Nearly home!
It was a long seven and a half hours to get home. We had a few stops on the way - Newmarket, Wetherby and then as we were crawling through Gateshead/Newcastle (due to rush hour) I decided that we had a long overdue visit with the Angel of the North. It's a pretty impressive piece of sculpture.
200 tonnes of steel, 65 feet high and a wing span of 175 feet (almost as big as a jumbo jet).
The best bit, though, is that when you stop to have a look the parking is free! Unusual in this day and age!
