Last cut?

At this time of year, after a long period of warmth and sunshine, the rain encourages the grass into a last spurt of growth. Often, the rain leaves the lawn too wet to mow, but the last few days have been dry and relatively warm again, so I was able to get out this afternoon with the mower.

It will probably be the last cut of the season. My ageing mower will be grateful for a few months' rest.
