Priory Woods

Beautiful day today. Too beautiful to go to a toddler group so we went out for a wander around Priory Gardens. Used to be a landfill site, now a beautiful area of lovely established woodland. Lots of open spaces between trees to fun through, lots of undergrowth and brush, lots of wildlife, fruiting trees and bushes - really quite a lovely place to go! It may just have become our go-to place to get Out to for a wander around.

We gathered elderberries and rosehips, beautiful maple and sycamore leaves, followed tracks, lost each other, went round in circles trying to find each other and ended up heading back to the car separately. Separately together, that is - mum and Bean were together thank goodness, and Bear was asleep in the mei tai on me! Note to self: Don't stop behind to pick rosehips without checking first to see which direction the others have gone. Silly girl! Apart from that, it really was the most lovely morning out. Happy sunnyness.

Back here, I keep trying to get our broad beans planted out. All four beans have sprouted and two of them are heading for almost a foot tall in our little jam jar. I'd love to get them into a pot so they can grow in the warm window at mum and dad's, we might even get beans for Christmas!!

But as always this afternoon proved hard to do anything with. Bear fell asleep on me, Bean wanted to watch tv, still tired. Nothing got done. Eventually Bear woke up but was touchy and wanted cuddles, so making tonight's cheesecake was hard going. It bothers me that at the moment I'm having to choose between putting the tv on so that I can do anything at all, and keeping the tv off and playing with the boys (therefore stopping Bear from hitting or pulling Bean's hair) but getting nothing done. We should have gone outside but once Bear was awake it was time to get dinner ready. Hoping that we'll figure something out soon.

Steve was home really late this evening. Very heavy traffic, heavier than usual. So he got in tired, but he's off to Worthing already, lots of dismantling jobs to do and things to find to bring back to Manchester. Hopefully the last lot of stuff to come up for our current phase of nomadic life.
