The barracks at Cwmorthin slate quarry

I am spending the weekend in Blaenau, and this afternoon I walked up to one of the old slate quarries, in the Moelwyn mountains. Blaenau Ffestiniog has a reputation as a grey rainy place, but today the sun shone and it was really rather warm.
What an interesting place this is, full of industrial history from the days when Blaenau was one of the slate capitals of the world.
