BRIAN
Exactly two weeks ago, I was peering into this gentleman's garden, to get a picture of one of his beautiful roses.
(see entry for 13th September, 'Raindrops on Roses')
Back in March, I was lurking in front of his hedge, waiting to capture one of his chirpy Robins.
(see entry for 1st March, 'Project Robin 3')
I was therefore surprised to spy a man bent over a huge hole, digging out afore-photographed roses.
'What's happened?' I enquired.
'Honey-fungus' said Brian, indicating to a huge, gnarled root protruding from the hole.
Brian told me he plans to plant a Hornbeam hedge in its place, as it's about the only plant which won't be affected by the fungus.
I revealed my earlier photographic interaction with Brian's garden and pointed out that as I'd already taken his roses and his robins, surely the only one missing - was him.
Good to have a chat Brian and thank you for being POTD.
Your blooms are lovely - I wish you happy and healthy gardening.
