Blipper's Block?

My camera is sorted; somehow I'd inadvertently locked the exposure compensation 3 stops one way - which is why everything was being over-exposed. I hope I won't do that again in a hurry.

These guys were nattering in the street. I thought they looked very animated so snapped them. But otherwise I feel photographically jaded...

Is there such a thing as blipper's block?
