The Mushroom Seller

We were fortunate to arrive (after a very nice lunch) in the square in Monpazier as the cepes market was getting underway in the 16th century covered market. The local farmers selling their boxes of cepes were all very proud of their produce and you could see them casting dismissive glances at their neighbours' wares. Beyond that gentle competition, there was much banter and cameraderie. The mushrooms themselves were very impressive with some enormous specimens. Specimens almost as interesting as the sellers themselves, including this gentleman.
