For "fish and chip" babies

I had another day off today so went up to Mum and Jim's house for lunch. A lovely plate of homemade soup made with mostly home grown ingredients. The picture is of my Mum's latest obsession project. These are clothes for newborn babies in third world countries whose parent are often so poor that they cannot afford clothes and these babies often leave hospital wrapped in news paper (hence the name "fish and chip" babies).

Mum has managed to knit seven outfits so far and is almost finished an eighth one. The wool she has had lying around or bought from charity shops. Apparently they are to be made of bright but darker colours as they possibly will never be washed. She has until April before they are handed over to the charity. A great cause.
